On August 18,1910, author David Dodge was born in Berkeley, California. Among many other books, Dodge went on to write To Catch a Thief (1952), the basis for the classic Hitchcock film.
August 4th was publication day for Isabel Wilkerson's Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents and Oprah immediately announced it would be her latest book club selection. The book examines "the hierarchy that defines and divides us in America".
